Can you believe 2013 is almost here?! I feel like this past year has flown by, but man…it has been a fun ride!
2012 has been a wonderful year for me personally. This little ol’ blog I started in the middle of 2011 was originally a way for family and friends to keep in touch with us when we moved 3 hours north. Now, a year and a half later, it has turned into so much more…and it’s all because of YOU!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
Thank you to my friends, fans, followers, loyal readers, or if it’s your first time here…Thank you!
You have helped me realize what my heart has been longing for for so many years. An outlet to share advice, recipes, my DIY projects, and creative capabilities with other like minded people. You have also helped me turn this passion into a little career as well, with more doors opening than I know what to do with. I feel beyond blessed to have met some of the most wonderful, talented, women (and some men) on the planet, and to even be considered to be a part of their virtual world has been like a wild, and crazy dream that doesn’t seem to end!
I can’t wait to see what 2013 has in store, but in the meantime…here’s a look back at 2012, and the posts that YOU loved!
When my husband and I redid our laundry room in March, I knew my personal friends and family would love it, but you all did too! It was even featured on a few BIG blogs that I was reading way before I had even thought about starting my own! I have a couple of room makeovers planned for 2013 so I can’t wait to see what you all think of those too!
When I turned this IKEA shelving unit into a Pottery Barn knock off and showed you how to do it, I never thought how big of a deal this particular post would be for me! This is the first post that got me excited to start really blogging! It was, and still is one of my most popular posts!
As spring quickly approached I started gaining confidence as a blogger and began to party. I started joining in on other bloggers link up parties and showing off little crafts like my Easter Diction-Eggys along the way!
I found tons of DIY projects in 2012 to attempt and this next one was definitely my favorite, and apparently one of yours too!
This oversized ruler was so fun, yet simple and cheap to make! It still gets quite a few hits and I can only hope that we all have giant rulers sitting in the corner of our family rooms!
I showed you how I organize spaces in my home like my pantry and refrigerator in 2012 and plan to do more organizing posts in 2013 because I know how helpful they are to you!
You guys went crazy when I showed you this quick and CHEAP front porch makeover using spray paint to create the illusion of stone! I’m happy to report that 6 months later it’s still looking great!
In 2012 I showed you simple ways to display your child’s artwork, how I store my craft paint, and how to hang art or mirrors perfectly in one shot!
I also shared many recipes with you like my snow cone cupcakes, steak pizzaiola, and Johnny’s ‘famous’ pasta.
And then before we knew it the holidays were here!
You all really loved my fall crafts and for that I am so thankful! Things like my puffy paint pumpkins, and chalk painted gourds were being pinned all over the place, but then I showed you my fall tablescape of 2012, and was just floored with all of your appreciation and support!
I showed you how we celebrated my daughter turning 5, and how to make your house smell amazing for fall, but then my computer died for over a month and I couldn’t post a thing. All my hard work over the year trying to establish a following and an audience was gone (so I thought) and I would have to start all over, but no…my older posts still carried me through, and you all stayed with me and interacting with me on Facebook, Pinterest, and Google Plus! Thank you for that, because you could have left, and you didn’t…that means more to me than you know!
When we were finally able to get a new computer I quickly got back into the swing of things around here with festive holiday projects like my painted faux bois vases and Christmas card/picture display and my ‘Silver Bells’ inspired Christmas candle tablescape. There was so much more that I had planned to post about, but the craziness of the Christmas season quickly got the best of me, and I ran out of time. That’s okay though…there’s always next year!
And then there was THE POST OF 2012! This post along with it’s earlier partner post continue to drive traffic to my blog in the THOUSANDS daily! It’s been pinned on Pinterest close to a quarter of a million times, and even inspired me to write an EBook with even more information! What is it?
That’s all right Bentley…you’re famous now! THE post(s) of 2012 were my tips and tricks (along with homemade recipes) on how to stop your pets from urinating in the house, and getting rid of pet odors for good!
2012 was an absolutely amazing year, and seeing all of these posts together on one page makes me kind of giddy! Without all of the love and support you have given me this year I doubt I still would be here. I’ve been inspired by so many of my blogging friends, and you, my readers have given me a reason to give in to my creative thoughts and ideas! So thank you, again, for the billionth time today!
From my home to yours…
Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Year filled with love, health, and prosperity! XO
