Game Day- “Big Mac” Cheeseburger Dip

CHEESEBURGER_DIP_COVER

You asked for it…

I asked last night on Facebook…who is hosting a Super Bowl party, and which would you like to see first (recipe/craft?) Recipe it was, and here it is!

Now, there is a disclaimer attached to this recipe…so be forewarned…you’ll see it at the end!

Probably the best thing about this recipe (other than the taste) is the fact that all the prep can be done the night before your party!

{Crowd roars}

Woo! Ready for some math?

{Crowd goes silent…Is that crickets chirping?}

Hey…I’m giving you the recipe here…help a girl out!

My recipe was more than enough (like we are STUFFED TO THE BRIM) for 2 people. So depending on how many people you’re having at your Super Bowl party you are going to need to multiply the measurements.

Got it? Got it. Good! Let’s get cooking…

-DIP INGREDIENTS-(serving 2 people)

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • 1/2 of a medium sweet yellow onion (grated)
  • 2 tablespoons of sweet pickle relish
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper

-ADDITIONAL GROCERY ITEMS-

  • Burger toppings (lettuce, tomatoes, onions…)
  • Crusty french baguette
  • (optional: bacon)

-BEST PAIRED WITH-

  • Ice cold beer (21 and older)
  • Ice cold Coca Cola (21 and younger)

First things first…brown your meat in a pan until fully cooked, try to make the meat crumbles as small as possible, and set aside.

cheeseburgeronion

While your meat is cooking, you can go ahead and grate your onion into a small mixing bowl. You must grate it! No shortcuts here or you won’t get the same flavor in your sauce. You need the onion juice.

Now that the onion is grated into a bowl, go ahead and add your ketchup, mayo, relish, and sprinkle salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly until everything is incorporated. Done? Congrats! You just made Mickey D’s secret Big Mac sauce a.k.a russian dressing/thousand island.

cheeseburgersauce

Go ahead and put your ground meat into an oven safe casserole dish, and pour your dressing all over and give it a good mix.

When it’s mixed and spread evenly in the dish, add your shredded cheddar cheese.

cheeseburgercheese

Place the dish onto a baking sheet, and pop it under your broiler for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly brown.

Serve it with crusty french bread and any and all hamburger fixings you can think of. Just make sure everything is chopped small so people can easily build their mini open faced burgers.

It’s good…so so SO GOOD…

Oh and remember how I said this recipe comes with a disclaimer? Well it does…

Once you make this “Big Mac” Cheeseburger Dip for a Super Bowl party, game night…whatever…You will be asked to make it AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN…

Enjoy!
