Favorite Homemade Smoothie Recipes

A few of my go-to favorite homemade smoothie recipes that are so refreshing after a run…

It’s so hard to get back into healthy habits when you’ve fallen off the train for a few months, but I’m slowly easing my way back in.

I lost 50 lbs. last year just by eating healthy and more consciously and exercising, but this year has been rough for me and I fell back into bad habits. I’m an emotional eater and factor that in with a prescription for anxiety that increased my appetite and it spelled disaster for my weight loss journey.

One personal problem that I have and have recognized over the years is that I drink my calories. I’m not an overeater but I drink way too many things that contain high calories so when I do eat it’s just adding on top of what I’ve already drank.

The key for me is to get back into drinking water only, and when I do want something else, get back into drinking my smoothies. Way more filling than a high in sugar coffee or soda (I know…don’t shake your head at me…it’s so bad) 😉

But I thought I’d show you some of my favorite homemade smoothie recipes, to give you some ideas in case you’re starting to think about your new years resolutions…

I started “treating” myself after a run to a smoothie, and it became a healthy addiction to replace my unhealthy habits. It gave me something cold and refreshing to look forward to when I came in from a jog and I noticed I would really miss it if I didn’t have time to make one that day.

One thing about all my smoothies is I can’t stand the taste of banana in them. It’s just a personal taste but I figured these were a good base for you to give you some ideas. I also don’t use milk or yogurt in mine. Again, personal preference. My smoothies are more like virgin fruity cocktails. 😉

I also always add in super greens and flaxseed to all my smoothies but left them out of these for the pictures. In actuality my smoothies are almost always a muddy brown color. 🙂

This one ^^^ is my favorite, and my normal every day go-to.

But I really like this one too…

And my last favorite combo…

I don’t know about you but I’m so ready for the new year and getting back into a much healthier and happier state of mind, and these smoothies will help kick my bad drinking habits to the curb…

Do you have a go-to favorite smoothie you love? Leave me the recipe in the comments so I can try it out! 🙂

Talk to you soon friends, take care!

XO
