Chocolate chip peanut butter bars are a decadent treat for all my peanut butter and chocolate loving friends. Denser than a cookie yet lighter than fudge it’s one of my favorites to add to a cookie platter during the holidays.
Is there any better pairing than chocolate and peanut butter?
That’s up top on my list when it comes to favorite flavor combinations.
This time of a year, I tend to do a lot of baking. Making cookie trays for friends, and always having something a little sweet in the house to snack on is part of what makes this season so memorable.

When I put together cookie trays, I like to mix up textures and flavors so there’s a good assortment of treats for everyone.
I love these chocolate chip peanut butter bars because they’re much denser than a cookie. They’re super easy to make too!
If you love old fashioned peanut butter fudge than you’ll most likely love this too. This isn’t fudge but it’s similar in taste and the peanut butter glaze added to the top…oh my yum!

Description
These easy to make chocolate chip peanut butter bars with peanut butter glaze are the perfect sweet treat to add to holiday cookie trays! They are amazing with a tall glass of ice cold milk.
Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter (melted)
- 1 1/2 cups smooth peanut butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups sifted all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
For the glaze-
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 3 Tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- In a large mixing bowl mix together the sugar, butter and eggs until smooth
- Add in the peanut butter, vanilla and salt
- Slowly add in sifted flour until everything is combined well
- Grease a 9×13 baking pan and pour batter onto pan- use spatula to smooth it out evenly
- Sprinkle chocolate chips generously over batter
- Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes
Glaze-
- When the chocolate chip peanut butter bars have 5 minutes left in the oven
- Bring a small saucepan up to medium heat on the stove
- Add in peanut butter and milk until melted together
- Add in powder sugar and mix well until smooth consistency
*You may need to add more milk is the glaze is too thick. You want it to be a smooth but sticky consistency.
Pour the glaze over the bars once you take them out of the oven and smooth over top.
Let cool to room temp so everything sets up nicely.
