People who love to eat are always the best people

a little bit of history
Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Chrissi, the heart behind First Home Love Life, a space rooted in simple living, homemade food, and life on our small farm. What started as a love for cooking from scratch and caring for a home has grown into a lifestyle centered on seasonality, tradition, and doing things the old-fashioned way whenever possible.
From late spring through fall, we run a small roadside farm stand, offering fresh-cut flowers and a selection of specialty produce grown right here on our land. There’s nothing I love more than harvesting blooms at peak beauty or sharing homegrown produce with our local community. Our farm stand reflects the same values you’ll find throughout this site — thoughtful growing, honest work, and appreciation for the simple joys of the season.
We also raise and breed ADGA-registered dairy goats, specializing in LaManchas and Nigerian Dwarfs. Our goats are a big part of daily life here, and we focus on healthy, well-cared-for animals with strong genetics and sweet temperaments. If you’re interested in purchasing a goat from us, please reach out on Facebook at Doe A Dear LaManchas.
Here on the blog, you’ll find from-scratch recipes, cozy comfort food, homemaking tips, seasonal living inspiration, and glimpses into farm life. Everything I share is meant to be practical, approachable, and rooted in real life — the kind of content that helps you feel more confident in your own kitchen, home, and routines.
And when the weather turns nice, if I’m not out on the farm, you can usually find me on the back of a blue Harley with my motorcycle man, soaking up the sunshine and chasing a little adventure between chores and seasons.
First Home Love Life is about creating a life that feels warm, intentional, and well-loved — whether that’s through a homemade meal, a vase of fresh-cut flowers on the counter, or the quiet rhythm of caring for animals and land.
I’m so happy you’re here and hope this space feels like home.
— Chrissi
