Ingredients

Scale

Whiskey Marinade

2 lbs steak tips or sirloin, cut into bite-size pieces
1/4 cup Irish whiskey
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
3 tbsp olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper

Creamy Garlic Paprika Sauce

2 tbsp butter
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
1/2 onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste

Garnish

Fresh chopped parsley
Crusty bread for serving

Instructions

In a large zip top bag combine whiskey, Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, garlic, paprika, salt and pepper.
Add steak tips and toss to coat well.

Seal the bag and marinate for at least 1 hour or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator.

Step 2 – Sear the Steak

Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium high heat.

Remove steak from marinade and pat lightly dry.

Add a drizzle of oil to the skillet and sear steak tips for 2–3 minutes per side until browned.

Remove steak from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3 – Cook Mushrooms and Onions

In the same skillet melt butter.

Add mushrooms and onions and cook for 4–5 minutes until softened and lightly browned.

Stir in garlic and cook 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 4 – Make the Cream Sauce

Sprinkle in paprika and smoked paprika.

Pour in heavy cream and beef broth.

Add Worcestershire sauce and stir well.

Simmer the sauce 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened and smooth.

Step 5 – Finish the Dish

Return steak tips to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce.

Simmer 2–3 minutes until the steak is heated through and the sauce coats the meat.

Step 6 – Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve hot.

This dish is incredible with:

• crusty bread
• mashed potatoes
• buttered egg noodles
• roasted potatoes

Notes

For the best flavor, use sirloin steak tips and sear them in a very hot skillet for a good crust.

Don’t overcrowd the pan or the steak will steam instead of brown.
