Description

Golden, flaky puff pastry wrapped around seasoned pork for the perfect Saint Patrick’s Day appetizer. Easy, savory, and ready in 40 minutes


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces ground pork

  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion

  • ½ teaspoon coarse salt

  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic

  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme

  • ½ teaspoon dried basil

  • ¼ teaspoon dried marjoram

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed (½ of 17-ounce package)

  • 1 egg, beaten


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Combine pork, onion, salt, garlic, thyme, basil, marjoram, and pepper. Mix well.

  • Cut puff pastry lengthwise into three strips. Roll each into a 10 x 4½-inch rectangle.

  • Divide pork mixture into three 10-inch logs and place along top edge of each strip.

  • Brush bottom edge with egg, roll pastry over pork, and seal.

  • Cut each roll into four pieces and place seam-side down on baking sheet.

  • Brush tops with egg.

  • Bake 25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.

 

  • Cool 10 minutes before serving.
