How to Make Irish Sausage Rolls

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: Mix the Filling

In a medium bowl, combine the ground pork, onion, salt, garlic, thyme, basil, marjoram, and black pepper. Mix until fully combined.

Step 3: Prepare the Pastry

Place the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut lengthwise into three strips along the seams. Roll each strip into approximately a 10 x 4½-inch rectangle.

Divide the pork mixture into three equal portions and shape each into a 10-inch log. Place one log along the top edge of each pastry rectangle.

Brush the bottom ½ inch of each rectangle with beaten egg. Roll the pastry over the pork and press to seal.

Cut each roll into four equal pieces. Place seam-side down on your prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with remaining egg.

Step 4: Bake

Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the sausage is cooked through and the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before serving.

Instructions
