Description

Sweet, sticky, and slightly spicy, these hot honey ham steaks are roasted on a sheet pan with caramelized pineapple for an easy, flavorful dinner ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 23 ham steaks (½¾ inch thick)
  • 2 cups pineapple slices or chunks (fresh or canned, drained)
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 12 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: chopped parsley or chives for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, honey, red pepper flakes, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  • Arrange ham steaks on the sheet pan and tuck pineapple slices around and slightly underneath the ham.
  • Brush half of the hot honey glaze over the ham and lightly coat the pineapple.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, until heated through and the pineapple begins to caramelize.
  • Remove from oven, brush with remaining glaze, and broil for 2–3 minutes until sticky and slightly caramelized.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes
  • Fresh pineapple gives the best caramelization
  • Pat canned pineapple dry before using
  • Don’t skip the broil step—it creates that sticky glaze
