Description

This Copycat Texas Roadhouse Seasoned Rice is a simple, flavorful side dish that tastes just like the restaurant favorite. Made with long-grain rice, chicken broth, butter, and savory seasonings, it’s the perfect accompaniment to steak, chicken, pork chops, and more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the rice and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until lightly toasted.
  • Stir in the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper if using.
  • Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and soy sauce. Stir well.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender.
  • Remove from heat and let rest, covered, for 5 minutes.
  • Fluff with a fork and serve warm.

Notes

  • For the closest Texas Roadhouse flavor, use chicken broth rather than water.
  • Add a little extra butter before serving for richer flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Excellent served alongside steak, grilled chicken, pork chops, or shrimp.
