Pasta
- 1 pound rigatoni pasta
Meat Mixture
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 4 ounces pepperoni slices
- 8 ounces Canadian bacon, diced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Vegetables
- 1 large red onion, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
- 8 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
Sauce
- 2 jars (24 ounces each) marinara sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Cheese Sauce
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 3 cups half-and-half
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Topping
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Extra pepperoni
- Extra black olives
- Chopped parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13 baking dish.
- Cook rigatoni according to package directions until just under al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil. Brown ground beef and Italian sausage. Drain excess grease.
- Add pepperoni and Canadian bacon and cook for 2 minutes.
- Stir in onion, bell peppers, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook until softened.
- Add marinara sauce, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, oregano, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a saucepan, melt butter. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in half-and-half until smooth and thickened.
- Stir in Parmesan and mozzarella until melted.
- Combine cooked pasta, meat sauce, black olives, and cheese sauce in a large bowl.
- Transfer to prepared baking dish.
- Top with remaining mozzarella, Parmesan, pepperoni, and black olives.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with parsley and serve.
Notes
- Slightly undercook the pasta so it doesn’t become mushy while baking.
- Freshly shredded mozzarella melts best.
- Add banana peppers for even more classic supreme pizza flavor.
- This casserole can be assembled up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerated before baking.
