Description
These Southern crockpot boiled peanuts are soft, salty, and packed with authentic Southern flavor. Made low and slow in the crockpot, they’re the perfect easy snack for tailgates, road trips, football season, and casual gatherings.

- 2 pounds raw green peanuts
- 1/2 cup kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 8–10 cups water
Instructions
- Rinse the raw peanuts thoroughly under cold water to remove dirt and debris.
- Place the peanuts into a large crockpot.
- Add the kosher salt, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and water.
- Stir well to combine.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 18–24 hours or HIGH for 10–12 hours.
- Stir occasionally if possible and make sure the peanuts stay submerged.
- Once the peanuts are soft and tender, allow them to sit in the cooking liquid for 30 minutes before serving.
- Serve warm or chilled.
Notes
- Green peanuts will give the best texture and flavor.
- Raw dried peanuts may require additional cooking time.
- Add sliced jalapeños or extra Cajun seasoning for spicy boiled peanuts.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
