Description

This Smokey Ham Crack Dip is a creamy, savory party appetizer made with cream cheese, smoked ham, garlic, scallions, and cayenne. Serve it as a chilled dip or shape it into a cheese ball for an easy make ahead appetizer that is perfect for holidays, parties, and game day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 packages cream cheese, softened

  • 1 can smoked ham, finely chopped

  • 3 to 4 cloves garlic, smashed into a paste

  • 1/4 cup scallions, finely chopped

  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Poppy seeds, optional, for coating

Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, smoked ham, garlic paste, chopped scallions, cayenne, salt, and pepper.

  • Mix until everything is well combined and evenly blended.

  • Serve immediately as a dip, or transfer the mixture onto a piece of plastic wrap and shape it into a ball.

  • Wrap tightly and chill until firm.

  • If desired, roll the outside in poppy seeds before serving.

  • Serve with crackers, pretzels, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • Let the cream cheese soften fully before mixing for the smoothest texture.

  • This dip tastes even better after a little time in the refrigerator.

  • You can serve it as a spread in a bowl or as a cheese ball for a prettier appetizer tray.

  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
