This Slow Cooker Chicken Breast with Gravy is an easy crockpot comfort meal made with tender chicken breasts simmered in a creamy, savory gravy. Perfect served over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles for a simple family dinner.
1 ½ cups water
2 packets chicken gravy mix
1 ¼ cup condensed cream of chicken soup
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
3 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1 pound)
½ cup sour cream
Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
In the slow cooker, whisk together water, gravy packets, condensed soup, garlic powder, salt, paprika, and black pepper until smooth.
Add chicken breasts to the slow cooker and flip to coat in the gravy mixture.
Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours, or until chicken is tender and cooked through.
Remove chicken and shred or slice as desired.
Whisk sour cream into the gravy until smooth. Return chicken to the slow cooker or serve gravy over chicken.
Do not overcook — check at 4 hours for best texture.
Boneless skinless chicken thighs can be substituted.
If gravy thickens too much after cooking, add a splash of milk or broth to thin.
