Description

These easy Shamrock Crostini are a festive St. Patrick’s Day appetizer made with toasted bread, cream cheese, and cucumber shamrocks. They’re simple, fresh, and ready in minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

1 baguette, sliced
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 large cucumber
2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the baguette into ½-inch thick pieces.

  2. Lightly toast the bread slices if you want a traditional crostini texture.

  3. Spread softened cream cheese evenly over each slice of bread.

  4. Slice the cucumber thinly.

  5. Use a small heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut cucumber hearts.

  6. Arrange three cucumber hearts on each crostini to form a shamrock.

  7. Cut a thin strip of cucumber and place it underneath to create the shamrock stem.

  8. Sprinkle chopped chives over the crostinis.

  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, mix the cream cheese with garlic powder, fresh chives, or dill before spreading on the bread.

These crostinis are best served fresh but can be assembled about 1 hour before serving.
