Service Schedule Calendar Printable

Okay I’ll admit it. Sometimes I write things on this blog and make promises, and completely forget to do it….

Back in February I wrote a post about how I organize our home maintenance binder, something that has tremendously helped me keep household receipts, service scheduling, and cleaning to-do lists tucked away in a spot that is easy to find when needed.

I promised you guys printables, and for the most part I did keep my word.

Printables such as my Spring Cleaning checklist, and Weekly Cleaning chart were made up almost right away, but then I got caught up doing other things, and well…I’m sorry…I hope you were waiting for this specific piece of the puzzle for too long.

If I ever do something like that again, just give me a virtual kick in the butt, or do what Tiffany did and write me an email…

So without further delay. Here it is in a nutshell. How I keep our home services scheduled and organized.

It’s a pretty simple system, and takes all of 5 minutes to do… First up is the “key” or Table of Contents. Basically just use markers or highlighters to color in the little bubble and write in next to it what service that color is going to correspond with. You’re color coding this. Just like how I color coded my circuit breaker…same idea here.

Once that’s done it’s time to start working on your calendars. I made them blank for you to write in the months and days yourself. This way you can make a new set every year on your own without my help 🙂

Now, the way I do this is to take one marker at a time and go through each month to mark what day something is scheduled. For instance, my “green” marker represents our lawn service company. I know they come out every Thursday from March-November so I mark those dates in green.

When payment is due for that service, I write a little “$” so I know to make out a check to give to them that day. Not a lot of things were scheduled to do this month, but if I back track to a busier month, you can really see the value of how these charts keep me on track and organized. A good example is what happened in March of this year…

March had almost every home service scheduled, and then some. You can see above that on the 12th we had a tree service done to trim back our trees. This isn’t something that is a normally scheduled service so I circled the date and wrote down what happened. This way when our trees begin to look heavy again, I can look back and know exactly how long it has been when they were last trimmed. Another thing you’ll notice is on the 28th there was a double color. The orange for my calendar represents when someone was coming out to do a fertilizing treatment on our lawn, because I knew that I was able to tell our lawn service that and they made the proper preparations on their end. It sounds confusing as I’m trying to type this, but it’s not, and you’ll figure out a system that works great for you and your home’s needs.

All of my monthly home service calendars are tucked away in their section of my home maintenance binder and this system has worked beautifully for me, and hopefully it will for you and your home too!
