Description

Creamy, cheesy, and loaded with juicy steak bites, crispy bacon, tender gnocchi, and rich savory flavor, this One Pan Loaded Steak and Gnocchi Skillet is the ultimate comfort food dinner recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 (16-ounce) package potato gnocchi
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped chives
  • Optional garnish: extra bacon, sour cream, black pepper

Instructions

  1. Season the steak cubes with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak bites and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add mushrooms and cook until softened.
  4. Add gnocchi and butter to the skillet. Cook for 4–5 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  6. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir well.
  7. Slowly pour in beef broth and heavy cream while stirring continuously until smooth.
  8. Reduce heat to medium-low and stir in cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  9. Add sour cream and stir until combined.
  10. Return steak to the skillet along with most of the bacon. Stir gently to coat everything in the sauce.
  11. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until hot and creamy.
  12. Top with extra bacon, dollops of sour cream, chopped chives, and black pepper before serving.

Notes

  • Use sirloin, ribeye, or NY strip steak for best flavor.
  • Freshly shredded cheese melts smoother than pre-shredded cheese.
  • Add spinach or caramelized onions for extra flavor.
  • If the sauce thickens too much, add a splash of broth or cream before serving.
