Instructions
- Add the cubed potatoes and diced celery to a large pot of salted water.
- Bring to a boil and cook for 12–15 minutes, until fork-tender.
- Drain well and return to the pot to remove excess moisture.
- Add butter and begin mashing.
- Slowly pour in milk while mashing until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in salt, pepper, and optional garlic.
- Taste, adjust seasoning, and serve warm with extra butter if desired.
