Ingredients

4 large sweet onions

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 packet Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon black pepper
-
½ teaspoon Cajun seasoning

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
-
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Topping
-
1–1½ cups store-bought crispy fried onions
Bloom Sauce (Optional)

½ cup mayonnaise
-
¼ cup sour cream
-
2 tablespoons ketchup
-
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
-
½ teaspoon paprika
-
¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Peel onions and cut a deep “X” halfway down into the tops.

Place each onion on a large sheet of foil in a baking dish.

In a bowl, mix melted butter, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, Cajun seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and red pepper flakes.

Spoon butter mixture generously over each onion, letting it seep into the cuts.

Wrap tightly in foil and bake 45–60 minutes until fork-tender.

Open foil during the last 10 minutes to lightly caramelize the tops.

Remove from oven and spoon some of the buttery juices back over the onions.

Top with crispy fried onions.

For the sauce, whisk together all bloom sauce ingredients until smooth and drizzle over the onions before serving.
