Description

Soft and fluffy homemade garlic butter yeast rolls made from scratch with simple pantry ingredients. These buttery dinner rolls are perfect for holidays, Sunday dinners, or weeknight meals.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Rolls:

  • 1 cup warm water (105–110°F)

  • 3 ½ cups white flour

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened

  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the Garlic Butter:

  • 1 pound soft butter

  • 8 garlic cloves, minced

  • ¼ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt

  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  • Add egg and softened butter to the yeast mixture.

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Pour in wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

  • Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic (or use a stand mixer with a dough hook).

  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).

  • Divide dough into 12 equal pieces and shape into rolls.

  • Place into a greased 9×13 baking dish. Cover and let rise 45 minutes until puffed.

  • Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

  • Mix all garlic butter ingredients together.

  • Brush warm rolls generously with garlic butter immediately after baking.
