Description

Flaky, cheesy cheddar chive biscuits baked in festive star shapes. This easy savory biscuit recipe is perfect for holidays, brunch, or simple family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ¾ cups biscuit or baking mix

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, minced

  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional, for brushing tops)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, combine biscuit mix, shredded cheddar cheese, minced chives, and red pepper flakes.

  3. Stir in heavy cream just until dough comes together. Do not overmix.

  4. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead 8–10 times.

  5. Pat dough to ½-inch thickness. Cut with a 3-inch star cookie cutter.

  6. Place biscuits 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheet.

  7. Bake 8–10 minutes or until golden brown.

  8. Brush tops with melted butter if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not overwork the dough or biscuits will become dense.

  • You can substitute sharp white cheddar for a stronger flavor.

  • Freeze baked biscuits up to 1 month and reheat at 300°F for 5–7 minutes.
