This DIY snowball garland is perfect for your winter decor! It’s so sparkly and even lights up!
My daughter just turned nine in October, but definitely has developed her own sense of style! She’s into blues, black, white and gold and her room decor reflects that!
So this year, when she told me she wanted a white Christmas tree for her room, I ran with the idea of creating little “icey’ touches that I knew she would love!
That’s where this DIY snowball garland came into the picture. It’s so easy to make and she loves that it gives her room a little bling and glow to go along with her white Christmas tree.
Now, don’t get me wrong…
Even though I made these for her room, they would be amazing anywhere! They add so much sparkle to your holiday decor. 🙂
You could make a bunch of these and place them above your fireplace, cabinets, shelves…
The possibilities are endless and they’re so easy to make! A great holiday craft that will last all winter long.
Here’s how to make them…
You’re going to need-
- foam balls
- Mod Podge
- paint brush
- epsom salt
- glitter
- a foam floral block
- wood skewers
- battery operated lights (I found mine at Walmart near the wedding crafts)
I shared with you yesterday how to “faux snow” and this is what we’re doing here to create our snowballs.
I pour my epsom salt and glitter into a paper shopping bag and mix it around. There’s no right or wrong amount, so just add what you like. I use a mix of very fine glitter and regular sized and used white and light blue to create an icey look.
Skewer your balls [insert sly smile here] 😉
Then paint them with a good amount of Mod Podge until they’re completely coated.
Then stick them in the bag and toss the faux snow mixture onto them until they’re covered in it. Stick the skewers into the foam floral block and allow your snowballs to dry.
And then once they’re dry, remove the skewers from the balls [another sly smile] 😉 and stick the little lights into the hole that is already there.
Then light em up up up! 🙂
Talk to you soon friends, take care!
