Description

This homemade dill pickle seasoning is a tangy, garlicky spice blend that captures the bold flavor of classic dill pickles. Sprinkle it on popcorn, fries, roasted vegetables, deviled eggs, chicken, and dips for an instant pickle-flavored upgrade.

Ingredients

Scale

2 tablespoons dried dill
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon citric acid (or vinegar powder)
1 teaspoon mustard powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon turmeric (optional for color)

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a small mixing bowl.

  • Whisk together until the spices are evenly combined.

  • Transfer the seasoning to a spice jar or airtight container.

  • Shake before each use to redistribute the spices.

Notes

Citric acid gives the seasoning the classic tangy dill pickle flavor. If you do not have citric acid, the seasoning will still taste great but will be slightly less tangy.

This seasoning is delicious sprinkled on popcorn, french fries, roasted potatoes, deviled eggs, chicken, and dips.

  • Citric Acid can be purchased anywhere that sells canning supplies

Store in an airtight container in a cool pantry for up to 12 months.
