Description

Skip the takeout and make this irresistible Copycat Wingstop Cajun Fried Corn at home. Sweet corn is fried until tender, then tossed in a rich Cajun garlic butter sauce and finished with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley. It’s the perfect side dish for wings, burgers, BBQ, and game day gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ears fresh corn, cut into thirds
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Cut each ear of corn into thirds and pat dry with paper towels.
  • Heat 2 to 3 inches of vegetable oil in a large Dutch oven or deep fryer to 350°F.
  • Fry the corn in batches for 6 to 8 minutes until tender and lightly golden.
  • Remove the corn and drain on paper towels.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper, and sugar.
  • Add the hot fried corn and toss until evenly coated.
  • Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.
  • Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Fresh sweet corn delivers the best flavor and texture.
  • Adjust the cayenne pepper for a milder or spicier version.
  • Toss the corn while it’s still hot so the seasoning sticks well.
  • For extra Wingstop-style flavor, add an additional tablespoon of melted butter before serving.
  • Air fryer option: Cook at 400°F for 12 to 15 minutes, then toss with the seasoned butter mixture.
