Ingredients

Scale
  • 4.5 lbs pork spare ribs (about 12 or full rack)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup Hoisin Sauce (*found in Asian aisle of market)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • splash red wine
  • 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon fresh garlic (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300. Cut spare ribs into individual pieces and lay on baking sheet with the bone side facing up. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 45 minutes.
  2. In a small sauce pan, combine all the other ingredients and let it cook on low while ribs are cooking.
  3. Pull out ribs and drain as much of the drippings out of the pan as possible. Then baste with BBQ sauce. Put ribs back in oven for another 30 minutes.
  4. Remove ribs from oven and turn them over to the other side. Baste with more BBQ sauce and put back in oven for another 30 minutes.
  5. Turn broiler on at the end to caramelize the tops just for a minute so the sauce doesn’t burn. Serve hot with rice or eat on its own. Enjoy! 🙂
