Description

These Breakfast Burrito Buns are a fun, make-ahead breakfast made with sausage, eggs, cheese, and seasoned dough rolled into soft, golden buns. Perfect for busy mornings, brunch, or breakfast for dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage

  • 6 large eggs

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 tube refrigerated pizza dough or crescent dough

  • Optional for serving: salsa, hot sauce, avocado, sour cream

Instructions

1. Cook the Sausage

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease if needed. Season with taco seasoning, salt, and pepper. Set aside.

2. Scramble the Eggs

In a bowl, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt and pepper. Pour into the skillet and cook, scrambling until just set. Remove from heat.

3. Prepare the Dough

Roll out the dough into a flat rectangle. Evenly layer the scrambled eggs over the dough, followed by the cooked sausage and shredded cheese.

4. Roll Up and Make the Buns

Starting at one long edge, roll the dough tightly into a spiral log. Slice into even rounds and place cut-side up on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

5. Bake

Bake at 350°F for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns are lightly golden on top.

6. Serve

Serve warm with salsa, hot sauce, avocado, or sour cream for extra flavor.

Notes

  • Let the dough log rest for a few minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts.

  • Swap sausage for bacon, chorizo, or a plant-based alternative if desired.

  • These reheat well for quick weekday breakfasts.
