Description

This bistro butter turkey breast in the crockpot makes juicy, flavorful homemade deli sliced turkey that is perfect for sandwiches, wraps, meal prep, and easy lunches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 boneless turkey breast, about 3 to 4 pounds

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/4 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  • Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels.

  • In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, thyme, rosemary, salt, pepper, and paprika until well combined.

  • Rub the bistro butter all over the turkey breast, coating the top and sides well.

  • Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the crockpot.

  • Place the turkey breast into the slow cooker.

  • Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Remove the turkey breast from the crockpot and let it rest for 15 to 20 minutes.

  • For deli-style slices, cool completely and refrigerate for several hours or overnight before slicing thin.

Notes

  • For the best deli sliced turkey, chill the turkey breast before slicing.

  • A sharp knife or meat slicer will give the thinnest slices.

  • Store sliced turkey with a little of the cooking juice to help keep it moist.

  • This turkey is perfect for sandwiches, wraps, salads, and meal prep lunches.
