Description

These Big Mac Sloppy Joes are loaded with cheesy ground beef, pickles, shredded lettuce, and creamy homemade special sauce on toasted sesame seed buns. An easy 30-minute family dinner packed with classic burger flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Sloppy Joe Filling

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon pickle juice
  • 8 slices American cheese

For the Big Mac Sauce

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup finely diced pickles
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

For Serving

  • 8 sesame seed hamburger buns
  • Shredded iceberg lettuce
  • Dill pickle slices
  • Finely diced onions

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, diced pickles, ketchup, mustard, vinegar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease if needed.
  3. Stir in the garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, ketchup, and pickle juice. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Place the American cheese slices over the meat mixture and stir until melted and creamy.
  5. Toast the sesame seed buns if desired.
  6. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the buns and top with shredded lettuce, pickles, diced onions, and a generous drizzle of Big Mac sauce.
  7. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Toasting the buns helps keep them from getting soggy.
  • Add extra pickles for even more tangy Big Mac flavor.
  • Ground turkey can be substituted for ground beef.
  • The special sauce can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
