Ingredients

Scale

For the nachos:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 10 ounces sturdy tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sliced dill pickles
  • 1/4 cup finely diced white onion
  • Sesame seeds, optional

For the burger sauce:

  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it apart until browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in the mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 to 2 more minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, relish, mustard, ketchup, vinegar, onion powder, paprika, and salt.
  5. Spread the tortilla chips over the prepared baking sheet. Top with the seasoned beef, cheddar, and mozzarella.
  6. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Top with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and onion. Drizzle with burger sauce, sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired, and serve right away.

Notes

Use thick, restaurant-style tortilla chips so they hold up under all the toppings. Prep the sauce and fresh toppings ahead of time, but bake and assemble the nachos right before serving for the crispiest results.
