Ingredients

Scale
  • pounds sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large sweet onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 12 ounces cavatappi pasta
  • 2½ cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup freshly shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1½ cups crispy fried onions
  • Fresh chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Season the steak bites with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak bites until browned, about 2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  • Melt butter in the same skillet and cook the sliced onions until soft and lightly caramelized, about 8–10 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  • Add the beef broth, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, onion powder, and cream cheese. Stir until smooth.
  • Add the uncooked pasta, cover, and simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender.
  • Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted.
  • Return the steak bites to the skillet and stir gently to coat.
  • Top with crispy fried onions and fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Sirloin, ribeye, or New York strip all work well.
  • Freshly shredded Parmesan melts much smoother than pre-shredded cheese.
  • Add a splash of beef broth if the sauce thickens too much.
  • For extra Bloomin’ Onion flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or Cajun seasoning.
  • Garnish just before serving so the fried onions stay crispy.
