This classic Amish-style broccoli and cauliflower salad is creamy, crunchy, and perfectly sweet. Made with fresh broccoli, cauliflower, bacon bits, raisins, shredded cheddar, and a simple Amish deli–inspired dressing, it’s the perfect make-ahead side dish for potlucks, holidays, and summer gatherings.
Salad
3 cups broccoli florets, chopped small
3 cups cauliflower florets, chopped small
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
½ cup bacon bits (or cooked, crumbled bacon)
½ cup raisins
Dressing
1 cup mayonnaise
¼ cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
In a large bowl, combine the chopped broccoli and cauliflower.
Add the shredded cheddar cheese, bacon bits, and raisins.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sugar, apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently until everything is evenly coated.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to blend.
Stir again before serving and adjust seasoning if needed.
For best flavor, chop the broccoli and cauliflower into small, bite-sized pieces.
This salad tastes even better after chilling overnight.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
