I’m a giver by nature. Nothing makes me happier than seeing the look on someones face when you give them a gift that’s just for them.
One of my favorite things to do is make gift baskets! I’ve done “themed” baskets for birthdays, baby showers, wedding showers, and holidays…
Mother’s day is like 3 weeks away so I’ve put together some customized ideas for you to give mom this year to make her feel extra special!
For the mom who loves to bake…
Start with a rectangular or oval low style basket, this way she can use the basket to store all her cookbooks later. Fill it up with cool retro style aprons (ETSY) and matching oven mitts. Add in a new baking sheet, some mixing bowls (The Container Store) and some new kitchen gadgets. Throw in a gift card to that kitchenware boutique she loves to browse in but never buys anything from, you know the one…
If mom has been eyeing your pretty chalkboard labeled jars…make her some! Don’t forget to fill them with the corresponding contents too to show her you’ve really put thought into this. Don’t worry I won’t tell 😉
For the mom who like’s getting down and dirty in the garden forgo the basket and go for a small wheelbarrow…
She will definitely appreciate that! Fill it with a fun pocketed garden smock (ETSY) new gloves (ETSY) and a big SPF protection hat. Scatter some new potted flowers, and a few gardening tools along with a gift card to her favorite nursery and you’re all set!
I dig it, and I’m sure she will too! 😉
Ahemm…Ahemm…honey if you’re reading this…pay attention to what’s up next…just saying…
Did you know Sears carries a whole line of pink tools? Seriously!
How hot is that? Just because mom likes to rip down drywall, and get intimate with her power tools doesn’t make her any less girly!
Get mom the tool box of her dreams, along with a stylish work belt. Splurge on a few new tools, and you’ll be golden! You could even throw in a gift card to moms favorite home improvement store.
Your mom might be quite the crafty diva…
Get her a good sized basket and fill it with paints, glitters, glue guns, scissors, paint brushes etc…Keep loose items in vintage mason jars tucked in the basket for an extra special touch. Maybe mom has been wanting a Cricut or Silhouette. Mothers day would be a great time to splurge on that! Giftcards to moms favorite craft stores are also great to include in the basket to let her get what she needs or wants!
And if you’re not into the whole themed gift idea, that’s fine!
Here’s some ideas for gifts any mom would love…
Candles, specialty soaps, a spa gift card, Origami Owl necklace, flowers, trendy chevron bangles, a bright yellow MK bag, anything in Pantones color of the year (Emerald), a springtime scarf, or a lightweight maxi dress. All of these are items that would make any moms heart go pitter patter.
No matter what your budget is you can find a way to make mom feel special this Mother’s Day.
