Bathroom progress has been moving along even though you haven’t seen a post about it in a couple of weeks.
We’ve had to do a few things that weren’t worth blogging about like reattaching and leveling the toilet because every time you sat on it, it was like being on a roller coaster ride. We also finished putting up the baseboards, caulking…lots and lots of caulking…and adding hardware to the new(er) $3 vanity cabinet.
Check out those knobs…
I was able to score them on Amazon for cheap cheap cheap, and they look like they could totally be a match to our new faucet.
I got asked about our mirror recently and it’s from Target’s Threshold collection ($39.99). Keeping our old builder grade one up just wasn’t an option since it extended across the wall above the toilet, and I’d eventually like to add shelves there.
Another thing we did recently was add hooks to hang towels on our breadboard paneled wall.
If you’d like me to do a tutorial on how we did this wall let me know in the comments below. I wasn’t planning on it since there’s a lot of tutes out there, but I will post about it if you’d like.
I love the way the hooks look and it was a much more economical choice than going for a towel bar.
As for what still needs to be done…
Shopping for accessories is one. I just haven’t had any time to go scouting for goods, but I kind of know what I want and where to put them…
I’m thinking a large vintage plumbing or septic advertisement sign would look cool and funky above the beadboard. I just have to find it first! haha!
As for the other (more easily attainable) items… a drive to a few stores will get me what I need.
But two smallish projects remain that I’d like to get done beforehand.
One is the lighting, it needs to be moved and replaced, but there’s a tiny little problem…I can’t decide!
I really like the look of sconces in a bathroom, so a part of me wants to do that. Problem is, this is the only light in that bathroom, and would it be enough?
The other option is to go with an above mirror fixture and centering it above the new mirror.
It’s a BIG DECISION PEOPLE!
Okay, not really but I’m still taking my sweet time with it, and opinions are welcome. 🙂
The other mini project and I use the term mini very lightly…
Removing the medicine cabinet.
I know, I know you’re thinking it’s not a big deal, but that’s because you don’t know what I have planned…
Seems easy enough right? 😉
I’m hoping that when I remove the cabinet there isn’t any surprises behind it to make this idea plummet into the toilet, but we’ll see, and soon because I’m planning to take it out tomorrow (EEK!)
Are you working on any projects around your house? I’d love to hear about it either by leaving me a comment below, or on my Facebook page {here}.
Talk to you soon!

It’s turning out just lovely and the idea for the medicine cabinet is fabulous. My fingers are crossed that you don’t find any unpleasant surprises to spoil the vision!

Your bathroom is really coming along so well, it’s beautiful! I had bought a new mirror for our bathroom and the lights above just HAD to me moved over and centered over it. Hubby did it one afternoon and it was an easy enough job to do – no one even noticed that it was moved over but everyone noticed when it was off center! So I think you should move it over, even if you get a new light down the road you’d want it centered over the faucet right?

Thanks Heather! Yes, I think we are going to go with an above the mirror light. I thought I wanted sconces on either side, but I don’t think it will be enough light. Now to find one I like…. 😉
