How to remove odors in virtually any space. This DIY Odor Remover is a quick, easy and inexpensive fix…
You ever have one of those duh moments when you figure out something so simple after you’ve been racking your brain trying to come up with something? That’s what I had a couple weeks ago when I was trying to figure out how I could freshen up some suitcases that were smelling kind of funky and stale, and since then I’ve used this method in SO MANY small spaces in and around the house and it’s worked amazingly well! This DIY odor remover costs a couple bucks to make and will not only absorb bad odors but it will keep them smelling fresh for a while too. Here’s how…
You’ll need-
- a pair of panty hose (get them at the dollar store)
- baking soda
- a pair of scissors
- essential oil of your liking (optional)
Cut off about 6 inches of the panty hose from the toe up. Then fill it with baking soda. I used a small jar to keep the panty hose open so I could pour in the baking soda without making a big mess.
Once there’s a good amount in there, add in a few drops of essential oil if you want to make it scented.
Then tie a knot at the end to keep the baking soda from falling out and form a ball.
Toss it wherever you want to keep something fresh smelling, or get rid of an already existing unpleasant odor. I’ve used it in everything from stale smelling suitcases and drawers, to gym bags, shoes, and even tossing one at the bottom of the trash can and laundry hamper.
Works every time!
I hope you found this super simple quick tip helpful! Do you have another way you keep things smelling fresh? I’d love to hear how! And if you’re looking for a spray option to get rid of even the stinkiest of smells check out this post here.
Talk to you soon friends, take care!
