Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes

A delicious side dish to any holiday meal. Cheesy scalloped potatoes will be a favorite year after year!



  • 1 lb yukon gold or red potatoes
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon dry thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dry parsley
  • 1 cup favorite shredded cheese (Gouda, Gruyere, Cheddar)
  • 23 tablespoons butter
  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. Slice potatoes thin
  2. Add into a large bowl with cream and milk. Let potatoes sit in the milk bath for a few minutes to release starch.
  3. Add in garlic, and half of your cheese, and herbs-give everything a good mix.
  4. Pour potatoes into baking dish and top with remaining cheese and dollops of butter.
  5. Bake in oven at 375 for 45 minutes


*Potatoes are best served at warm to room temperature.
