Whether you’re looking to feed your family or hosting a party, this italian style pot roast with spaghetti is a budget friendly meal that doesn’t skimp on flavor!
I think I mentioned to you a while back that growing up my family went through a stage where we had very little money. There was a few years of my life that I remember eating spaghetti with jarred Ragu because it’s all we could afford.
It’s kind of ironic that during that time I begged my parents to make something else because I was sick of pasta, but now I could eat it every day. 🙂
Meat was a splurge in our house during that period and most of the time when we had it it was Steak Pizzaola or Beef Stew. That’s how I kind of made up this recipe. It’s a take on pizzaola, but using pot roast instead.
Pot roast isn’t exactly inexpensive but its a big cut of meat and can feed a crowd. It was on sale last week so I grabbed a couple to make dinner for a few days.
This recipe is so simple with only five main ingredients that are staples in almost every house. I know you’ll love it!
I spooned it over some whole wheat spaghetti and it was fantastic.
The whole wheat flavor really held up great against the beef and tomatoes.
I also load this sauce up with garlic and onions! Honestly, is there anything better? 😉
I like using my cast iron pot (< affiliate link) to make this but you can definitely do it in a crock pot too.
Here’s how to make it…
I hope you love this super easy italian style pot roast! It’s one of my favorite meals and is the epitome of homey, good comfort food to me.
I mean….it’s pasta. The end. 😉
Talk to you soon friends, take care!
